Manjimup is a native timber and tourist village located in the wonderful jarrah and karri forests of South West Corner of Western Australia, established about 300 km south of Perth in Western Australia. The foremost tourist focus for visitors to Manjimup is the surrounding native timber plantations, fauna, bushwalking, mountain bike trials and numerous attractions and activities affiliated with the timber industry.

Some of these enticements encompass a challenging tree tower which tourists can ascend, a magnificent set of karri trees called the `Four Aces`, a unique timber bridge which was constructed from a gigantic single karri tree, a magnificent timber museum, many regional timber sawmills and local timber arts, crafts and furniture manufacturers.

Major events in Manjimup include:

  • The Cherry Harmony Festival, 
  • The world-famous Motocross 15000, which is Western Australia’s biggest motocross event attracting Australia’s best motocross racers at the Cosy Creek Motocross Circuit with seniors and juniors racing in nine classes over two days.
  • The J B Ipsen Memorial Golf Tournament,
  • Back to Fonty`s Log Chop and Bath Tub Derby,
  • Kristofferson Cup Golf Tournament,
  • Manjimup Truffle Affaire, 
  • Warren Agricultural Show,
  • The Truffle Kerfuffle.

More than three quarters of the local area is reserved either National Parks, Nature Reserves and Forests. There are outstanding ecotours in the area and fabulous bush walking, camping, 4WD tours and mountain bike trails. A short distance from town you can enjoy many activities such as the challenging climb to the top of the Diamond Tree Lookout Tower, marvel the stunning Four Aces set of large karri trees and be amazed the King Jarrah, a truly amazing 600 year old tree located just 3km from Manjimup. The giant King Jarrah is surrounded by mature stands of jarrah, yarri and marri trees that support a plethora of small native birds, reptiles and mammals.
There are also many water-based attractions in the area including:

  • The Donnelly River
  • The  historic Fonty`s Pool
  • Glenoran Pool.

The Heritage Park Complex is very popular with tourists and includes the State Timber Museum. Also included is the historical Hamlet, which contains many historic buildings that have been relocated buildings from within the Shire, the steam museum, a blacksmith’s forge,  a children’s playground and a craft and ace.

Further away are all the amusements and recreational attractions of the South West including the South West Wine Region centred on Margaret River. There a stunning range of local places to stay including a range of beachfront accommodation on the nearby coast of the South West Region.
