Margaret River, Western Australia - Offers Wines, Surf, Forests, Ecotours
Margaret River is the gateway to the magical surfing, wineries and ecotourism adventures in the South West Region of Western Australia, about 270 km south of Perth.
The world renowned Margaret River Wine Region is famous for its fabulous wines and plethora of tourist enticements and recreational activities including surfing, angling, stunning timber forests activities, wildlife and regional food produce.
The district attracts more than half a million tourists annually. There is a wide range of things to see and so in Margaret River and the surrounding district. In the pioneer days the Margaret River was a quiet backwater that was sought out for its farming produce, hardwood timber, wood crafts and its spectacular seaboard scenery and nature reserves. There is a magnificent assemblage of more than 60 boutique breweries, cafes and fine bistros, fresh food outlets, most boasting spectacular scenery of the hills with vineyards and spectacular surf breaks. Margaret River furthermore has an array of arts and craft outlets and wood art and furniture centres and galleries.
Fabulous Surfing
The beach side area of Prevelly is recognised throughout the world for its fabulous beaches and spectacular surfing conditions. Close to the main surf break is Gnarabup Beach, which provides wonderful body boarding and swimming conditions,pure-white sandy beaches, forests and clear pristine blue waters. There are a host of tourist attractions in the area including beachside parks, hotels, restaurants, cafes and beach front accommodation with sweeping ocean views and the lovely sound of the waves echoing through the rooms.
Wines, Forests and Ecotours
In the locality you can find a rugged picturesque shoreline, a variety of underground limestone caves, towering timber plantations, attractive sandy beaches and magnificent bushwalking and bicycle trails through the nature reserves and along the coast. There is a wide variety of entertainment venues, pubs and clubs in Margaret River and the nearby towns of Busselton and Augusta. You can stay on the beachfront in flats, apartments, home units, resorts, backpackers, bed and breakfasts, hotels and motels.
