Margaret River is the gateway to the magical surfing, wineries and ecotourism adventures in the South West Region of Western Australia, about 270 km south of Perth. The world renowned Margaret River Wine Region is famous for its fabulous wines and plethora of tourist enticements and recreational activities encompassing surfing, angling, stunning timber forests and regional food produce. The district attracts more than half a million tourists annually. There is a wide range of things to see and so in Margaret River and the surrounding district. In the pioneer days the Margaret River was a quiet backwater that was sought out for its farming produce, hardwood timber, wood crafts and its spectacular seaboard scenery and nature reserves.
